On this day I married my Best Friend.....

Happy Anniversary Babe!

December 28, 2007

Gene and I were married 1 year ago on this date! We have been together for 6 years we have so much fun, make each other smile and now we have our awesome son. Although the stress of being a parent and both full time employees doesn't always bring out the best in us we truly are in love. I couldn't imagine having a better man in my life! We learn as we go just like everyone else, but it is incredible how in sync we have become over the years! Gene is my best friend and my husband forever! I love you, babe!

Our Special Day!

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good boy this year! I wanted to tell you how nice it was to meet you when we went to see Christmas lights. That was a lot of fun. Maybe next year you can show me the North Pole! Just a suggestion!! Thank you for taking a picture with me too.

I guess you agree that I have been a good boy because you brought me everything I asked for and more!!!
Love, Trenton
As you can see Trenton got what every little boy needs:

Train set, shopping cart and basketball goal!

Sing Along Car!

Train Table!

Playground...swings are on the way!

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. We did the Riley Christmas the Sunday before at our house! We had 11 adults and10 kids under the age of 12! Gene was busy assembling the new playground while I helped get ready for the day! It was nice to have everyone over for the holidays! Our first since we just got our new house! Mom and Dad you are the best and I couldn't ask for better parents. The Grandchildren are truly blessed! It felt like the gifts never ended.

Gene has been really sick again this year, I guess it is our new family tradition. We have to quarantine ourselves because Gene gets a really bad case of Strep or Tonsilitis every Christmas! Instead of going to Mom and Dads for traditional feast we had Jack in the Box! We didn't need to infect anyone else! By today I was so tired of being stuck in the house we went to lunch as a family and shopped a little! I have the 2 greatest men in the world to take care of me (or vice versa!) and I love them both!

All in all we had a blast! Trenton also got several Handy Haulers, Noisy Cars (thanks Mom), PLAYDOUGH (Kim I won't go there!) and of course clothes! We are blessed to have our family and friends! Hope everyone has a great New Year!

Also, Mom had her surgery and is doing great!

Lights, Lights and More Lights!

So this weekend was full of Christmas lights which is fine because that is one of my favorite parts of the season. On Thursday I too Trenton to the Dickinson Christmas parade (no pics as I was alone!). Saturday my Mom, Sister (Laurie) and my Neice (Jaycie) came out to go with Trenton and I to the Dickinson Festival of Lights. This is the most amazing light display I have ever seen. Its FREE, you walk through, they have a train (free), they have pictures with Santa, you can make cookies and the list just keeps going. We decided to just enjoy the lights. It was awesome. I hope everyone gets to view this amazing display! Coming up next....Trenton's new playground brought to you by Daddy (and hopefully a team of expert craftsmen!)

This is a video of Trenton running through the tunnel of lights! I am not computer saavy so you will have to deal with the sideways view!

Trenton & Jaycie (my neice)

Trenton all bundled up to look at lights!

Me and My sis Laurie!

I love my husband for several reasons, but right I now I love him because he is brave enough to climb on the roof to hang Christmas lights for me! My favorite holiday is Christmas and my favorite part are the lights! This is our first year to have our own home so we decided to decorate! I have to admit that the person who invented shingle hooks was a genius! We have a very steep roof and needless to say Gene was not happy to be hanging over the side!
Gene reconsidering his love for me!

Really reconsidering!

The end result!

I am THANKFUL for...

I can't believe how time flies when your having fun. This blog is to tell my son how Thankful I am to have him. Trenton is the most exciting little boy I have ever layed eyes on and it makes me so proud to be his Mom. I love you so much Trenton and when you are in your teenage years I hope you still know that. You are my first child and at times I am scared that I won't be able to love another child as much as I love you! I know I will, but you are my first. I am thankful for your cheerful giggle, your chubby smile and your clever expressions. You bring so much happiness to your dad and I. Here are some recent pictures just to show you how much Trenton is growing. We are truly blessed for our family and friends.

Cowboy Trenton!

My how you have grown! Eating your very own yogurt!

Dad an elephant says mmmppppphphhhhh!

Heading back inside after playing in the semi cold weather!

If I could just get this piece loose.....I fixed it!

This Thanksgiving is so meaningful to me because we have so much to be Thankful for. With the economy and world being what it is right now, Gene and I are truly blessed. I hope that this Thanksgiving everyone will appreciate all that they have instead of complaining of what they don't have. We are Thankful we have jobs, our son, each other, loving friends and families that are always at our side!
God Bless everyone this Thanksgiving weekend.

ROUND 2

We are on to the 2nd round of playoffs! We play LaPorte @ Deerpark on Saturday 1pm. Mommy & Trenton will be there to cheer for Daddy's team! Way to go Clearbrook on winning district and making it the next round! We love you!

We played an awesome game against Ft Bend Marshall last Saturday. 34-12 win was incredible to watch. Trenton spent time with Nana and Aunt Mimi so Mommy could watch the game. PLUS it was about 42 degrees outside and not appropriate weather for my little man. I forgot what it was like to actually sit and watch the game! We also saw our best friends The Cooley's. They game in town to watch UH Coogs stomp on Tulsa! Go Coogs! It was an all around great weekend for sports!

Pumpkins, Painting and Pirates

Halloween is always such a fun time of the year. It is much more fun these days having a little one to celebrate with. Trenton and Mommy went to the CB Homecoming game for Halloween. Trenton is still too young to go Trick or Treating, but not too young to be oohed and ahhed over at the game! He went as a pirate this year and I must say he is pretty darn cute! We met up with our friends The Brewers at the game and Mrs. Kim got a taste of my regular Friday night life! (She is totally jealous!) Before all of the running around began we were able to get a few shots of the boys together!

Pirate Trenton & Monkey Brady

(Trenton is eyeballing Brady's nana!)

Arrr....you really making me wear this?

Happy Halloween to everyone! We had a blast even thought the costumes lasted about 20 minutes before we noticed the boys sweating to death! I love the holiday season! Turkey is right around the corner! CB made playoffs...ahhhhh I thought the nightmare that I call FOOTBALL SEASON was over!

I am sure everyone remembers me saying we didn't make it in time to paint with Brady & Cooper so we decided to paint at home! Best paint ever is Crayola Kids Paint; it dries like chalk and comes off clothes! Trenton had a blast painting. Daddy was concerned about the mess, but kids have to have fun! So Daddy was the photographer!
Picasso hard at work! Yes that is paint on his nose!

Paint, Paint I love to Paint!

Our new little neice, Raelynn, was born in September. Uncle Luis and Janis decided to make a trip down here to show off their bundle of joy! She is so precious. What a perfect opportunity to get some pictures together in the pumpkin patch. It is sad when you can wear shorts and crocs to the Pumpkin Patch! The pictures came out ok. We have nothing to compare it to from last year because T was too sick to go!

Mom, this squash doesn't taste so good...

The best picture I could get!

Trenton and Raelynn

Grandma and Grandpa Flores were in town as well. They spoiled Trenton on Halloween by keeping him home from school, taking him shopping for new shoes & he went to the Homecoming Carnival! Aunt Rachel came in town as well and she spent a lot of time with her FAVORITE nephew!

3 Little Pumpkins sitting in a row!

There is nothing better than getting ready for Fall with your friends! Saturday Shannon, Kim and I decided to get the boys together for some fall fun. Trenton and I missed the pumpkin painting that was scheduled for 10 am, but we made it just in time for matching shirts and Pumpkin Hat craft time for the Mommys! Boy was that an adventure. One at a time we made the hats while the other two chased the kids. We had sippies and snacks being shared by all! It was a blast and an awesome idea, Thanks Kim! Shannon is Mrs. Craft! I have a lot to learn and ummm...buy! So what are the chances that our little pumpkins all sat still, smiled and took a picture??? SLIM! Check it out..

Trenton is excited about take 3!! Mrs.Shannon was jumping around...Brady not so much!

3 Little Pumpkins sitting in a row...wait where did Trenton GO!

Can you blame the kid? I mean really I would cry too if I had to wear a pumpkin hat! J/K

Everyone has a ball...ready, set, TAKE THE PICTURE!

I am so glad to have met such awesome women! I feel like Trenton has brothers! It's nice to be able to get together with kids the same age! Shannon & Kim are so much fun! I can't wait until Thanksgiving gets here! I took a sneak at last years crafts on Kim & Shannon's sites!

Moving Stinks.....

So what is a blog with out pictures? Well it's just a blog! I finally had a moment of silence last night and I decided to go ahead and upload the millions of pictures that I have taken. Then the search began. I couldn't find the USB cord that runs from the camera to the computer. I looked every where! I promise our life has not been to exciting lately, but I do have some photo's to share.

Here is a little bit of what we have been up to:
Moved into our new house and painted the kitchen a beautiful green color. We have a new kitchen table and we will have a new 50 inch plasma on Saturday. Why would anyone need a T.V. that big I have no clue. It's a man thing.

Trenton had his first experience with the ice cream man. That was neat except he decided he wanted my cone over his Dora the Explorer sugar mess! Some cute pics of him eating the icecream on his dump truck!

New bath time routine: Take a bath with your fire man hat on, run around naked, read your book naked and for the finale Trenton will tinkle on the floor! You have to love little boys!

Ok so now that everyone knows we are still here I will hopefully find my USB cord soon and post some pics! I have a girls weekend in New Orleans for my friends birthday so I am sure that will be a fun post!

Enjoy your week and weekend. Stay tuned for Pumpkin Patch pictures and Halloween pictures!

Boom Boom Boom...

Wouldn't it be nice if I were talking about Trenton and a new toy! Well I am not. I have been feeling awful lately and so I decided to make an appointment with my family doctor today. I have had an horrible headache for about 4 days now. It has progressively gotten worse and has even caused me to throw up, feel exhausted and moody. Well I am NOT preggo! I have migraines. Apparently it is genetic, THANKS DAD! Just kidding. I know it is very common, but it is also very hard to manage a massive migraine when you have a 1 year old and Coach for a husband. I am pretty grumpy these days and miserable. I am suppose to SLEEP it off! Yeah right! Who has time for that when you are in the insurance biz, have a kid and a busy hubby?!? Well now that I know I am not crazy, overworked or preggers I can move forward with my new meds! They don't seem to be working, but it is only Day 1!!

For those of you out there that have them I am truly sorry and I now share your pain! I will hopefully post something better soon. I am at work...shhhhhhh!

I am up for a play date soon to my fellow Mommies! I am never going to sleep so I might as well take Trenton to play with his friends! I miss and love you all!

Getting ready for Halloween

So last year Trenton was sick on Halloween. He had the cutest outfit last year, a giraffe! Even though he was too sick for Halloween fun we still had fun looking at him in his costume. So this year I wanted him to be super cute so here is his costume. Of course this is not him, but we got it in today and he looks awesome.

Sorry about the less than exciting posts lately. Work is crazy and we have been trying to get the house in order. We did paint the kitchen and will be moving to the entry soon. I will hopefully have energy soon to make better posts! I miss you all!

We survived Hurricane Ike!

Well I wanted to let everyone know that we are ok here in the Flores home! We had several trees down and our fence is a little bent, but other than that we are great! I will upload pictures soon. We stayed in Spring for the storm, which was a little better than trying to stick it out at our house. We had a tornado tear through the neighborhood so I am glad we left. My family is fine and without power. We got power back on Monday evening and what a blessing that was! Just in time for Monday Night Football! We grilled and chilled with a few people ! Thank you so much to everyone who pulled together to make this hurricane experience a great one! Things could be worse! God bless those who have severe damage or no home at all. I hope that you are able to recover and move forward. Please let us know if we can do anything for you!

For those of you who may not have power or your day care is closed I will be available on Monday to help watch kids for your teacher work day! Please let me know if I can be of assistance. I will be home with Trenton and it would be my pleasure to help. Like I said we have power!

I love you all and hope you are all safe!

Hurricane Ike......

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Ike doesn't hit Galveston direct! So far he looks like he is going south, but have our trusty Meteorologists ever gotten it right? I went ahead and bought hurricane survival gear just in case. If we don't have a natural disaster it looks like my family will be eating tuna, raviolis, spaghetti-o's & water for a LONG time! We have family and friends in Corpus who have began to evacuate. We have not and will not make that decision until later in the week.

http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atlstorm9/projectedpath_large.html?from=hp_news

There doesn't seem to be much panic in League City, but we have to think of our little man. If anyone needs a place to stay out of town, let us know. We have friends and family in several surrounding cities!

Better Late then Never.....

Well since Trenton is now 17 months old we decided to take the time to get suckered into spending a ton of money on his 1 year pics! The way I look at it he is 1 all year! So we went to Portrait Innovations and boy were we in for a treat! Now that Trenton can RUN it was a nightmare trying to get him to sit still. I think we took 133 pictures and really only ended up with 20 good shots! We sang If your Happy & you know it clap your hands over & over again. That worked for a while eventhough we had to deal with people judging our singing!! Then we had to move on to snacks! I am glad its over and that we only do this once a year! He really took some great pictures! I love my little boy so much. How can you get mad at this innocent little face?

Can you see him singing "Clap your hands!"

Still singing "...touch your toes"
Look out world, I'm one and on the run!
The Flores Family

So we have moved into our new house and we obviously have internet now. Stay tuned for new home photo's. I cannot seem to locate the camera. I have O.C.D. as many of you know so there are not many boxes to be unpacked. I am sure it is in a very obvious place! Well we are having a blast. Trenton had a very difficult time adjusting to the new place. He would wake up at 2AM and not go back down until 4AM. It was nuts! We have made some changes in our new home routine and we have officially made it a whole week without waking up! Many thanks to all of my fellow Mommies and their advice!

What else is new......

Trenton is able to identify just about every animal and the sounds they make! He is also starting to speak much more clear! We were at Pei Wei for lunch today and as people were leaving he would wave & say :Bye, have a good day!" We were cracking up! We have also been experiencing tantrums! He for whatever reason will scream at the top of his lungs! (Yes we have that kid everyone avoids at a restaurant) New technique of encouraging him to use his signs instead of screaming has been working nicely. He gets excited when we praise him for using his signs! We are reaching a point where we choose to pick up dinner and bring it home. It's much easier on everyone. The school year has started and Trenton is doing great. He has a Best Friend at school. He hugs Trenton every morning and says "I love my best friend, Trenton!" His friend is 4! It's super cute. I love you all and will upload pictures of the house soon!

Fun Max Jump In

As a working Mom I feel like it's my responsibility to find fun and unique things to do with Trenton so that we don't sit at home watching T.V. Well today Gene & I decided to take Trenton to the park. We were there for about 5 minutes before the 30% chance of rain started coming down! Soaked & frustrated we started driving home. On the way I told Gene to stop at Fun Max Jump In to see what this place was. Well it is a moon bounce place for all ages. We went home to grab some socks and dry clothes and came back. For $4.25 we had unlimited bounce time. Parents are FREE! It took Trenton a few to warm up to the loud sounds of the moonwalk fans, but once he did he had a blast! So did Mom & Dad! This is another one of those Mommy play dates we will need to go on! It wasn't crowded at all. I think its not very popular because it tucked in the corner of a shopping center next to Specs!! All in all we had a blast! See some fun pics. Coop & Brady will have fun the next time we go! :0)

Mommy & Trenton on the big slide! Trenton did this alone too!!

Summer Fun

A day at the Museum....

What can you do in Houston for only 5 bucks??? ALOT! The Childrens Museum was so much fun. Kim & Shannon this is a must do Mommy's day out with the boys! The Tot Spot was amazing. You can sit and talk while your kiddos run freely and play, play, play. In just this one exhibit your kids get to do so much. They have giant lava lamps that with the push of a button you can change its colors. There are bridges to walk across, soft blocks to build with, mirrors to observe what your little professor is up to. I decided to be brave and take my sisters daughters with me. I also took my younger sister Kym as back up. While Trenton and I played in the Toddler world, the big kids got to play in the other 13 amazing exhibits! I will definetly be going back. Trenton even had fun going to the other exhibits. (Slide show to follow - Way to many pics) Here are some:
