Photo Session Teaser

Sunday we had an awesome photo session with Shawna Florida (www.shawnaflorida.com)  a friend of ours who is starting her photography business. I wanted to get something different pictures done for his 2 year pictures so she said she would photograph him for her portfolio! She said he is easy to photograph and I have to agree. I was able to swipe a couple from her site, but these don’t even get close to the pictures I consider my favorite!

He looks so mature!Session 1The wagon that I brought to pull him around Discovery Green in downtown Houston ended up making the cutest pictures! I think we ended up going through 4 outfits and 300+ pictures! Shawna did an awesome job and I hope everyone will use her!!!

Session 2More to come once she edits them all!!!!! Enjoy!

I love this little guy….

I love that fall is approaching very quickly. Here in Houston we have to appreciate the few “cool” evenings we get! I say cool I really mean 80 degrees with no humidity!! T and I spend every evening outside. It is so nice to watch him play and run around.

Trenton has learned how to ride his tricycle by himself! Its so cute to watch him ride up and down the sidewalk with the “big kids” on the street!!  DSC05114That was a lot of hard work! Every little guy needs a popsicle right?

DSC05118 Trenton thinks that Daddy needed help with the lawn, but the regular push mower wasn’t going to get the job done. So he pulled out the big tractor!DSC05120

Can you believe Dad let the yard get this bad? DSC05123  Hilarious is all I can say here!DSC05099

Arrrrrrrren’t you glad its College Football season? Captain T sure is! DSC05090Bring it Red Raiders we are ready! Go Coogs!DSC05092

Babysitters for Hire

Gene and I decided that we needed a night out without Trenton. Well as usual we didn’t make this decision until 5:30 on Friday so our regular babysitter wasn’t available. Luckily Gene works at a high school with a wide selection of awesome kids and we asked Aliza and Kristin 2 Cheerleaders if they could help us out! Gene and I decided to take out the boat and cruise down to Sam’s Boat. What a great night! Well needed after a long week!

Look how cute we are!DSC05139

We get home and put the boat in the driveway and we start walking into the house when we see this:

The last words out of Gene’s mouth were “You have got to be kidding me!” Oh no they got him good!

This is our kitchen…they used toilet paper and ribbon!  You couldn’t even walk in the door! If you opened one cabinet they all opened! This will teach him to play jokes on Mrs. Jefferies!DSC05140 The breakfast/dining areaDSC05142Gene was surprisingly quite the trooper and YES we still paid them. DSC05143 So here is the Lesson I learned very quickly last night: When Gretchen suggests a babysitter or TWO and she wants revenge on your husband….just stay home. We can wait one more night!

Your Mission: Catch up on Blogging

So why do we buy our children toys that are “age appropriate” when all they want to play with is spoons, boxes or their exersaucer from when they were babies! I was doing laundry the other day and walked into the garage to see this:

Ummmm…can I help you?DSC05058  He stayed in the saucer for ever! I just left him out there, I mean what Mom is going to argue with a little alone time! If making a fort out of blankets and pillows or playing in your toys from 2 years ago means I get to relax and fold clothes in peace be my guest!DSC05059

Labor Day we decided to take out the boat and enjoy the Houston heat. It was so nice!!  T and I have not been on the boat in a while so we called up some friends and headed to Walter Hall. T is a little scared at first, but when we start moving its all ok!

We are big sunglass people and I think its important to teach T now to wear them and he is pretty stinkin’ cute if I don’t say so myself. As usual he fell asleep on the 20 minutes we were in the car so this is the “Mom, your crazy if you think I’m getting on that boat” face!DSC05062Boats are better than cars when it comes to making kids tired. Aren’t we such a cute couple!DSC05063My boys! I love them so much! DSC05065

DSC05068 DSC05069 Out of the way Dad, I’ve got this!

Reality has apparently set in that we are not on land!DSC05071 CHEEEEEEEEZE! This is the big smile I got as we were heading home for bed! Yes, T was in bed by 6:30!DSC05074 As some of you know we are working on potty training. T loves to wear undies at school. He loves to potty like a big boy at school. He however does not like undies at home. He demands a pull up or to be naked. I usually opt for naked time because he will actually go potty. He will not use the potty with a pull up on SOOOOO this is what you will find at any given moment in the Flores house! I will say for him only being  2 1/2 (not even) we have been very successful at the potty training business. DSC05076 DSC05077

Today we met the Brewers at TRU for a Thomas the Train Playdate. I mean what’s better than a free day with Thomas?!? Well the boys mostly ran around the store playing with every toy they found, but we did at least get a few pics of T coloring his Thomas sheet. AND he got some awesome trading cards!! He can add these to his Baseball collection…they will be worth something too one day…right?

So polite, offering colors to Mommy.

DSC05078 This picture steals my heart. He looks so grown up. He is really focusing on coloring!DSC05079 Hey, what’s that?DSC05083  They also had cool paper engineer hats, but we never actually got it on his head! DSC05085We closed the day with a little playtime at ChicFila and then Daddy was so sweet to take T home to nap while I shopped for fall clothes for my rapidly growing little man!

We also moved Trenton to a big boy bed….his new room is a work in progress so stay tuned!
