How to pass the time in Del Rio….

Ok so we decided to take the entire week of  Thanksgiving and head down to Del Rio to spend time with Gene’s family. There isn’t much to do in Del Rio other than relax, hunt and eat! AND that is exactly what we did. We ended up taking 2 cameras because our big camera is a pain in the butt to lug around. So possibly another post coming from the smaller camera that I am not a huge fan of. Anyways, I had to get creative in keeping Trenton occupied. He loved to run around on his Great Grandparents porch. We did this a lot. We collected sticks for the fire, gathered pecans and rode his tractor around all of their property. It was so great to spend the time with Gene’s family. We were however happy to be back into town and into our routine!  This year Thanksgiving was smaller than usual. Mostly Gene’s immediate family and his grandparents. We got to spend a lot of time with our niece Raelynn who lives in Corpus. I learned very quickly how bossy my son will be with baby #2!

I am pretty sad I didn’t get to go this year. So I took a picture with his deer like it was my own. Ha!DSC05361DSC05363

This was by far Trenton’s favorite night. We went to a friends house and decided to make smores. The weather was sooo cold and since we were always by a fire what better than to roast some marshmallows!

Excuse the smoke here! Trying to take a picture of my child sticking a stick with a marshmallow on it in a pit of fire! DSC05449

How priceless is this face?!?!?DSC05443   I guess I will have to do another post because I must show how Trenton decided to write all over his Grandparents wall in permanent marker. AND of course Thanksgiving with my family!!

I’m a Big Kid now!

Although Trenton has been in his big boy bed for a couple of months I just took time to hang up all the fun things on the wall. As many of my friends know I love to shop for great deals, so most of this stuff I have had for a while and found it for almost nothing at Target. The one thing that I had a hard time with was finding fun letters for his room. Ordering them online is very expensive, but thanks to my extra crafty friends I was able to make them myself! It amazes me how fast time flies! Trenton is 2 1/2 and getting smarter and more independent everyday!

All Star sign as you enter!DSC05343 My awesome letters! Too bad the picture seems small, his name is just really long. I am thinking of adding big stars to the wall because they are kind of lonely looking!

A place to hang his hats! The were in the dollar section at Target!DSC05342 Due to the time change we really have not been up to much. Football season is OVER and we couldn’t be happier! Maybe we will be able to do more dinners as a family or something fun that normal families do!!

Halloween

What a fun age 2 is! We had a fun filled day on Halloween. First, Trenton invited his friends Brady and Cooper to his Preschool Fall Festival. Although the school hyped it up a lot more than I thought, the boys had a blast! I mean it really doesn’t take much to entertain 3 two year olds – give them a balloon bounce and tennis ball toss and they are content! After the festival we headed for lunch at Chic-Fila and let the boys play. It was amazing how well they did considering this was their usual naptime! After lunch Trenton and I headed to Target to do some shopping and then home for a nap. Well, as usual that did not go as planned so by the time The Brewers got to the house and we got Trenton into his costume it was time to go Trick or Treating. It was so adorable to watch Trenton and Brady run from house to house saying “Twick or Tweat” and getting candy..THAT THEIR MOMMIES didn’t immediately swipe from them! We made it a whole block before we threw in the towel! It was a good experience and next year will be even more fun!

Ball throw at the festival. He looks so much older in this picture!DSC05303 Cooper and Trenton racing for the orange balloon hole!DSC05305 The 3 Amigos!DSC05306Trenton was not down with face painting, but he did enjoy his hand getting painted. He kept saying “My punkin stwicker”

DSC05308 DSC05310And of all things the “Needle in a Haystack” game was the biggest hit. Cooper was really good at finding the needles. DSC05312Trenton was really good at throwing the hay!DSC05314 We missed the pumpkin patch this year so here is my 2009 Fall photo!DSC05320

Later that night the Brewers came by so Trenton and Brady could go Trick or Treating together! How cute is Spider Man and the Fireman!!Hall 09

The wagon sounded like a good idea until we put them in….took them out…in…out….You get the picture! We quickly dropped this off with the Daddy’s who were handing out candy!DSC05325First house of the night!DSC05326OK, so Brady Brewer has to be to be most patient kid I know. This is Trenton waiting for Brady to catch up! He was taking his time and taking it all in! My child was running around like a wild bangee!DSC05329The next day we found an awesome deal on costumes at Walgreens! So Trenton now has Superman, Darth Vader and Batman  to add to his Spiderman and Pirate costume collection!

Awww…so adorable!DSC05331 Batman…..dunna dunna dunna dunna dunna! Batman!DSC05335

We had a great time and to add to a busy day we ended our night at the Harmons for a party with good friends. I mentioned the no nap several times before so around 10 Trenton hit rock bottom and turned into a ware wolf so we headed home for some much needed sleep!
