Santa came!

Let’s just say I have been horrible about taking pictures. I get caught up in enjoying the moment and forget about the camera. With that said Santa came to visit. Trenton was so excited and he kept saying “whose this for?” “whose that for?” I told him they were for him he said with big eyes “All for me??” I love this age! He is so excited about Santa and getting new toys! Gene and I enjoyed watching Trenton open his gifts while sweet Trace was still asleep. Next year we will have 2 opening gifts so it will be crazy! Santa even used super hero wrapping paper which Trenton was just thrilled about! A few things on Trenton’s list were: Scooter, Legos, Tranformers and play dough. I guess Santa got the message because he got everything and more! Gene and I have spent endless hours putting together legos, race tracks and much more! But it’s all worth it for our little angels!

First thing in the morning checking out his gifts

I should have taken a picture of Trenton playing his new leapster. That was definitely the big hit gift! We are going to have to invest in rechargeable batteries!  We enjoyed our family Christmas at home and later in the evening headed to Nana and PawPaw’s house for Riley Christmas. I think we are expecting a visit from Grandma and Big Dog Flores this week too! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and we are looking forward to a great New Year!

Festival of Lights

I love Christmas time and I love the area we live in. There are so many things to do to celebrate Christmas. We were suppose to spend Christmas Eve with my sister’s family making cookies for Santa, but plans fell through last minute so we met up with the Burrow’s family at the Moody Gardens Festival of Lights. This was the neatest light display I have seen. They have music, sounds and even stories playing as you pass through the lights. There was an outdoor skating rink and SNOW! The night started off a little rough with two kids screaming in the parking lot to 1 happy 3 year old with cotton candy and a very, very unhappy 2 month old! Trace seems to have a hard time if we go somewhere between 4:30-6:00. He just freaks out. He pretty much cried the entire time, but we still had fun.

How cute is Trace in his Christmas hat!

Christmas with Friends

We had a gift exchange this year with the neighbor kids! Each kid got to choose a name and buy them a gift. It was so much fun and a tradition I hope we continue for years to come! We are so incredibly blessed to have great neighbors with great kids! I don’t think we would survive without them! God really knew what he was doing when he chose this house for us.

Everyone getting ready to open their presents!

I want to say Thank You to all of my neighbors for always being there for our family and each other. I look forward to the warm weather when we can sit out front and watch the kids play!

Christmas Train

Trenton and I had a fun date night with our good friends Mrs. Kim and Brady. We met up for dinner and then headed to the Christmas Train at a local church. Since the Brewer’s have had the twins we haven’t been able to spend much time together. The boys were super excited to see each other! They are growing up so fast! This year they were so independent and were such big boys. It was so different from the previous years! Next year should be fun with the boys and babies in tow!

Trying to take a picture of two 3 year olds wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be!

They had a Santa’s workshop set up with a Christmas village display and even pictures with Santa. The boys were so thrilled to watch the train go around the village!

Cookies with Friends

Tuesday  night after a long day of playing outside, some of the neighbor kids ended up at my house watching TV. Trenton decided he wanted to make cookies so I thought it would be fun to let everyone in on the fun. I always have sugar cookie dough on hand because it is such an easy and fun project for Trenton to do! I had a few aprons, rolling pins and cookies cutters (for all holidays!). Everyone had there piece of dough and they were so good about sharing the cookie cutters. We are so happy to have such good neighbors!

Nana’s Christmas Party

Every year my Mom’s job has a Christmas party for the employee’s kids. They have pictures with Santa, art projects to make, cookies, candy and a gift! It means a lot to my Mom to get to show off all of her grandkids (12 to be exact!). It’s pretty busy and chaotic and with a newborn in my arms very little pictures were taken, but here we go:

My handsome man after meeting his 2nd Santa of the year!

I think the saying on his shirt describes this look!

Later that evening Gene and I went to a wedding so my Mom and Dad kept the boys! PaPa really loves his grandbabies! How cute and comfy does Trace look! We are so blessed to have my parents live so close. We have really needed them a lot for holiday parties, weddings and other fun events!

Hey Dad:

DSC07523

Daddy’s Boy

I don’t know about you, but there is nothing sweeter than watching a Father with his children. Gene is such an amazing Dad and he is so much more comfortable with Trace than when Trenton was a baby. (I think we both are!) I captured this sweet moment of Gene talking to Trace. When Daddy is home Mom gets no love! This boy loves his Daddy!

DSC07513 DSC07514

I came across this picture of Gene with Trenton at about the same age! You can see how different they look! Trenton was so teeny and has a much darker complexion.
