Future Farmer

Thursday CCISD hosted their annual FFA Show. I love animals and so does T. My friend Gretchen asked us if we wanted to go and who would pass up on a free trip to see some animals!! I think that FFA is an awesome program to get kids involved and work towards scholarships for college. I would support T if he decided to do it one day (I am not so sure about Gene though). Well one of Gene’s students had a steer there and he was gorgeous!! It was so fun watching T  run away from light up around the animals. He would keep saying he wanted to see the Cows, so we would go to the cows. Then he would want to go to the pigs, so we would walk over there. Finally realized he wasn’t fond of either! Geez!  All of the kids were so excited to let T see their animals and he even got to feed some!

Hello there little lamb!DSC05956

He loved the rabbits!  ( he looks so grown up)DSC05960

Checking out the chickens…DSC05961

He was really into the lambs. Of all things!DSC05962

Ok this goat was crazy. He kept biting at my shirt! His owner kept saying “Oh its just a nibble” T making sure the other one didn’t come near us!DSC05964

That’s the face of pure excitement right there…T not me! DSC05965

Did you know that pigs ate graham crackers? Apparently they play with basketballs and bowling balls too because a lot of them had them in their pins!DSC05968 DSC05969

This is Gene’s students steer. SO PRETTY, but not so nice. He seriously kept mooing at us! DSC05971

If there is a concession stand within 100 miles this kid will know about it and you will too! Eating dessert (an airhead)DSC05972

This is a CB students heifer. She is preggo (the heifer not the student!)

DSC05974

They also had a silent auction. Ummm, no I did not bid on anything. I did think the items these kids made were amazing. This is a plant holder. A high school student made this! So unbelievable!

Feeling Blue

So along with all of the great weather comes the inevitable sick child. It never fails that once the weather heats up my child gets sick. I am not one to rush T to the doctor, but he has a nasty cough for a few days, yucky crusty eyes when he would wake up and just flat out cranky. Well Tuesday I caved and made him an appointment and made sure I saw his pediatrician. I waited ALL day to see him, but what else did we have to do that day!

Trenton did really well so I could work from home. He pretty much got to watch Dora, Diego and Curious George all day. He was very tired and asked me to make him a pallet on the floor. He camped out there all day!DSC05921

So 2 o’clock finally arrived and we made it to the doctors office. We maybe waiting in the waiting room for 10 minutes and I thought this must be our lucky day! They took us back and weighed T in (34.3 lbs) and put us in the last room. The nurse checked T out and said the usual “The Dr. will be right in”. We chatted, played “What Color is the square on the ground”, and even checked out the latex gloves. Slowly I was running out of entertainment and T had the most horrible melt down of all times. He cried “I WANT MY DADDY” for oh 15 minutes. (Felt like 5 hours!) FINALLY Dr. Hottie the Dr came in told me T has a bad head cold and sent us on our way. OMG! Oh did I mention T immediately stopped crying when he walked in!

See the squares on the ground! Here is T putting on his “glub”

Are you ready for your check up?DSC05927

After waiting at Target for 1.5 hours for T’s cold medicine we headed home for dinner! So when you are sick you get to make the decisions, right??

Flores Party of 3 your TINY TABLE is ready! Yes, we did actually eat dinner in the living room on his table. (My baby was sick!)DSC05932

Bubble Gum and Grape flavored medicine! YUMMO!DSC05935

I mentioned T got to make the rules so after dinner we made cupcakes! While they baked we bathed T and then decorated them. We gave T his “special batch” and I did the rest. We didn’t need them to have any special ingredients!

T was counting the cupcake holders as he placed them in the pan!DSC05936

A little song by using the sprinkles as his microphone! DSC05939

This is the perfect chef hat if you ask me! DSC05942

Decorating! He chose pink icing with sprinkles! DSC05944 DSC05946 DSC05948

Survey says: YUMMY!DSC05952

I guess he thought they needed more sprinkles because I walked out of the kitchen and came back to find this Finished Product Part 2:DSC05955

T is feeling much better and of course this weekend will be nasty and raining so we will have to find more in door things to do! Come on summer!!!

At the carwash

B-E-A-utiful weather is all we saw this weekend. Saturday started off somewhat questionable, but ended up really nice. On our way back from grabbing a drink from Sonic I saw some of the men in the neighborhood washing their cars and thought if they are doing it then we must not be getting any rain so I joined in! Trenton and I spent all day outside and the majority of the time was washing my car. What a job that was….my car is HUGE! T had so much fun washing and spraying. I think from now on I will save my money and do my own car! I wish this weather could stick around forever. It has been nice to play outside all day and into the evening. Hopefully this will burn off the excessive amount of energy he seems to have!

How awesome that we get to wear shorts in January!DSC05905

Look how huge my car looks compared to T!DSC05907

He took a break from the big car and decided to give his own a wash.  DSC05908

Daddy came home and we had lunch and an outfit change because T was soaked from washing all the cars! This is T waiving bye to Daddy as he left to run an errand. So precious!DSC05909

After the short lunch break we headed back outside to finish what we started. I was cleaning my wheels and wiping spots that we had missed and I look over to see T doing the same thing!

DSC05910

Nothing better than a hard days work! And yes he was completely supervised while using the spic n span on his car!DSC05911

After all this we headed to my parents to drop off T and head to dinner ALONE! We also had an engagement party to go to so T got spoiled by his Nana, Paw Paw and Mimi!

Unexpected Guest!

Finally this weekend we got the most beautiful weather! Saturday Gene had to work all morning so T and I did our normal weekend routine. Eat breakfast, do laundry, clean and finally PLAY OUTSIDE! We squeezed as much sunshine in this weekend as we could! Well I guess with all the cold weather comes migrating “guests”. I was on the phone with Gene when I saw what I thought was a lizard in our dining room. I dismissed the crazy thought and went on with my day. Not 15 minutes later T comes running into the den screaming “A Wizard, A Wizard….Mommy catch it!” So apparently I was not crazy! Well there is nothing more hilarious than hearing my 2 1/2 year old cheer me on while attempting to catch this tiny lizard. Well after some chasing and trying not to hurt it I caught it! T was so funny and wanted to hold it, but I resisted because I didn’t want him to get away!

Our guest the “Wizard” DSC05890

Ok I will go this way and you can go that way!DSC05891

Ready, set……CHASE!DSC05892

Maybe I can stop him with my laser! DSC05898

Ta da! I took this picture so everyone would see no lizards were injured in this process!DSC05900

Home sweet home!DSC05902

Fisherman in Training

As many of you know Gene loves to fish! He really loves to do anything outdoors. Well the last couple of days the weather finally heated up, rain stopped and the sun came out! Gene went fishing Monday after work and brought home dinner! It’s funny to me that people actually buy the fish at the store because I don’t think it has even crossed my mind! Anyways, Trenton gets so excited when Daddy gets home and he gets to see the fish! Soon Gene will take T with him and I will get to relax or read a book on that nice boat I own half of, but never get to use! We have so  much fish I am feeling a fish fry coming soon to the Flores house!

Big Reds!DSC05875

T kept saying “See fish, Daddy! See fish!”DSC05876

The proud fishermanDSC05877

What an awesome picture of my two favorite guys! DSC05885

I will spare you the gruesome pictures, but this is one of T’s favorite parts. Filleting the fish! DSC05887

I am so blessed to have a husband who can fish, hunt & BBQ! Trenton is really lucky to have a Dad to teach him. I think it is very important to know how to do these things. It’s what defines most men. Gene will definitely pass this on as well as baseball, football, basketball…..need I say more!

Don’t Feed the Dinosaurs!

So the holiday week is coming to an end. We had a great time spending almost 2 weeks at home as a family! I am sort of happy we will be back into a routine, but loved spending so much time with Gene and Trenton. Gene and I have decided in 2010 that we have got to get back in shape. So 5:45 am will be here very soon and my workouts begin! It has to be done! Well Trenton is enjoying all of his toys especially his dinosaurs. He asked for animal crackers the other day and I thought they would be for him. I was sadly mistaken. He was so proud of himself and came running into the kitchen saying “Dinosaurs were hungry” over and over. I was totally confused and walked into the living room to find this:DSC05841 How sweet of those T-Rex to share the crackers with the tricerpetops!DSC05842  And not a few minutes later I came in to check on Trenton and I found him completely stripped down, eating animal crackers and wearing a beanie! This kid is too much and I am not sure if I should be worried, but he HATES to wear clothes! DSC05844

HAPPY 2010!
