Don’t Quit Your Day Job

So I had this bright idea to try and put Trace in this cute aluminum pail I found in Gene’s parents back yard and take his pictures in the field next door. The temperature was about 80 degrees until I decided to strip him down and start taking pictures. Photographers really do have a talent. I am only sharing these because if he hadn’t been crying and I had a little more talent then the pictures could have been really great! Ha! I will leave the photography to the professionals from now on!

I think he is a little big for the bucket….

He looks pleased doesn’t he!

I think I needed a bigger bucket, sleeping baby and warmer weather! This was one of many Mommy photo sessions gone bad!! I hope you laughed (at me) a little!

Thanksgiving 2010

Let me start by saying I have been awful at taking pictures lately. I guess my brain is functioning due to lack of sleep! We spent Thanksgiving with my family the Saturday before the actual holiday. Then we headed to Del Rio to spend the week there with Gene’s family. This has been our tradition since Trenton was born and seems to work nicely. Usually we spend the holiday with my siblings and their families, but the last couple of years extended family has come as well. It is always nice to see my Aunt Wanda and her family. This year my Grandma (Dad’s Mom) came in town. It had been a while since I have seen her and she got to meet Trace for the first time! Gene and I were a little nervous about travelling with 2 kids, but the boys did great! We made it there in record time. The trip to Del Rio was relaxing and it is always great to spend time with the Flores side of the family. Trenton and Trace got to spend the holiday with both sets of Great Grandparents (mine and Gene’s). I am so Thankful for Gene, Trenton and Trace.

My father in law feeds all of these deer and the group has grown from 2 to 11! Trenton had so much fun feeding them apples and corn. You can get so close to them that they almost let you touch them!

Flores Party of 4

This year we decided to get the most for our money and get our family pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. I am a HUGE fan of them, but get tired of the same ole pictures. Well I made an appointment at 12:30. Now, anyone who has kids knows how important scheduling is. I wanted this time because Trace would have just eaten and been relaxed and ready for pictures. We arrive at PI, check in at 12:25 and FINALLY get pictures taken at 1:25. I had a crazy toddler and an angry baby! I had NO intentions of taking the cheesy Christmas pictures, but was forced into it. I also wanted cute brother pictures and newborn pictures. Well see the photos and they should tell the story themselves!

This is 1 of 15 shots. Needless to say we didn’t get great pictures and our photographer was a little irritated at this point.

3 Weeks

Trace is 3 weeks old! He is growing so fast I can hardly believe it. What is Trace up to at 3 Weeks:

-Wearing newborn clothes, but I put him in 0-3 months sometimes and he looks fine.

-You are still a great sleeper (about 3-4 hours)

-You eat 3-5 oz at every feeding!! You are so much more alert these days! You even coo at us and smiles here and there. You are such a happy baby!

We have a busy week coming up with Thanksgiving celebrations and a long trip to take to see Grandma and Big Dog in Del Rio

2 Weeks

Look at the super cute onsie that was delivered today!! I ordered it from my favorite monogramming place in Dickinson and my sweet friend Amanda brought it to us today. I love the work that Amy at N’Stitches does! She really had a talent! Trace is 2 weeks old already! He is growing so fast!!

Trace had his 2 week check up on Thursday. Dr. Ingraham said he looks very healthy and is right on track with his height and weight. He is making eye contact and really doing a great job lifting up his head. We had to go get some blood work done at the hospital and my sweet boy didn’t even cry! He is a lot more alert this week, but is still a good sleeper and a really good eater! He is eating about 3 oz every 4 hours and it is still a combo of breast milk and formula.

Weight: 7 lbs 14 oz                Length: 20 1/4 inches

Mom’s attempt at a photo session! I think this picture is so cute…he kind of has a grin on his face!

DSC07236

This is his usual surprised look, but a good picture of the onsie! If you are looking for something to do with those swatches of fabric you ordered then here you go! I sent the swatch to Amy and this was her creation! DSC07232

Ok I think its time to stop with the pictures. This kid has no idea how much his Mama loves her camera!

Cabin Fever

So I am on maternity leave and it has been a little overwhelming. I am so used to going 90 mph all the time so being stuck at home is making me a little crazy. If Trenton were in school I would get some sleep, but since I have him I am trying to fill our days so he doesn’t get super bored and throw crazy fits! Today we decided to grab a drink from Sonic and head to the park. We have a great park in our neighborhood! Trenton appeared to have ua great time! He even told his friends and his Daddy how much fun he had. However, when we were leaving he said “Thank you for taking me to the park Mommy, but that was not fun!” Awesome! Way to make your hormonal Mama cry! You be the judge and tell me if he had fun or not!

BOYS WILL BE BOYS!

Just a day with the T’s

So we don’t do anything super exciting right now since Trace is so small and I am recovering! I am also really bad about taking pictures! Trenton has gotten ahold of my camera and totally messed up the settings. I am trying to get it back to normal, but until then pictures will be limited. We are hopefully getting family pictures done this weekend so I will post those if it happens!

Daddy and his new little man playing play station. Doesn’t Trace totally look into it!

Mom please get the camera out of my face!!!

DSC07150

Enough already!

DSC07154

This was too sweet! Trenton requested to feed Trace on his own. Of course I was right there to help! How sweet.  Sorry about the less than great pictures!

DSC07180 DSC07181 DSC07182

Trace is 2 weeks old this week! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by! He will be 3 before I know it!

Trenton’s Special Day

Trenton has been such a trooper having little Trace at home. I feel like we are always asking him to grab this or hand me that or please wait one second so I can finish ____ for your brother. He is a super helper and has only had a few melt downs. We decided Sunday after church to take Trenton to Putt Putt Golf place near our house. We were going to do Chuck E Cheese, but the thought of bringing home all those germs gave me anxiety! Trenton was super excited when Nana got to the house and we headed out! He was so happy to play video games, air hockey and play golf all by himself with Mommy and Daddy! He keeps asking when we are going to do it again! It is important to give him some quality alone time and we understand that. We plan to make a habit of special days in the future. Soon we will be chasing two crazy kids around the arcade to play games!! I can’t wait!

Trenton always seems so grown up to me now so I was really excited when he wanted to ride the “kiddy” Clifford ride!

Beating Daddy at air hockey! (Side note: Dad wants one for Christmas now…sure thing honey)

DSC07161

Look how grown up he looks riding the motorcycle!

DSC07163

I thought golf would be fun because Gene and Trenton both love it. Plus it was something I could do. Well we made it about 6 holes before Trenton was fed up with waiting for the crazy profession putt putt family in front of us!

DSC07168

We had a great day and I am glad Trenton enjoyed it! He starts school again next week and it is sort of bitter sweet. I love spending the whole day with him, but I am ready for him to go back. He needs the structure and his friends!
