Riley Family Christmas

The day after Christmas we headed to North Houston to spend Christmas with my family! We have a very big family and my parents are always so generous, not only to the kids, but to the adults as well! AND every year since Trenton arrived Nana and Paw Paw trump Santa! I guess because we tell them to buy the expensive stuff so Santa doesn’t have to! Gene ended up with a new PS3 game, gift cards and a really cool jalapeño popper for the grill. I got a digital frame, huge frying pan, bath and body works, home decor and gift cards!! Trenton went home with EVERYTHING. I mean all the kids did! T got an Imaginarium Spiral train, art easel, hot wheels, gift cards…….need I say more! We are truly blessed to have such a great family on both sides. We wouldn’t have it any other way!

All dressed and ready to go! Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Flores for my new shirt!DSC05728

This is funny and gross. These are the cubes the cat plays in and T and Mandi thought they were so much fun. DSC05730 DSC05732

We had so much fun and I am happy to report I cleaned ALL day today, organized the new toys, got Trenton to sleep by 7 and am now relaxing! I am grateful for family and Christmas, but so pleased it has passed! I am ready for a new year with new outlook on life and hopefully a smaller waistline!

Santa “bing” presents…..

Christmas was so much fun this year! Trenton understood that Santa was coming and bringing him presents. It was so cute, right before he went to bed he said “Santa bing presents when Tenton sleep?” Santa did come and Trenton must have been a very good boy in Santa’s eyes because he really got a lot! Just to see how excited he was Christmas morning made it all worth it. I actually got up first, loaded the batteries into the camera and we went and got Trenton. He said “Santa come?” I made him go look in the living room and he was like “OH WOW, I LOVE IT!” (Which is his new phrase by the way) Santa likes to wrap some presents and leave the bigger items unwrapped and put together. To save Mommy & Daddy the hassle right??? As he opened a present he wanted to open it. I think Christmas morning took about 4 minutes because he was so excited to see what else he got! His list to Santa was candy canes and wouldn’t you know he didn’t get a single one! Woops! We enjoyed blueberry muffins for breakfast and lunch with our good friends the Jefferies. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and can’t wait for Trenton to be able to share is toys with his friends!!

I took a lot of pictures so CAUTION! CAUTION!

Straight for the stocking that had Color Wonder Paint, Transformers and a Nerf gun!!DSC05641

Present 1 (see all the fun stuff behind him!)DSC05643

We really like to play games so Santa brought Trenton several for everyone to enjoy! Sponge Bob Ants in the Pants!DSC05644

Spiderman Memory!DSC05646

Watch out Mom, I’m loaded and I know how to use this thing!DSC05654

Work Bench! This is pretty neat because you can fold it down into a tool box and take it with you and you can build a car!!DSC05660DSC05655

18 wheeler full of cars!  Helps with the mess, but puts more small cars on the floor to step on! DSC05661

Trenton’s “big” gift was his new Spiderman Scooter!DSC05662

Triceratops! He loves dinosaurs and this one is amazing. It walks, growls and eats!DSC05664

Trenton kept insisting he was hungry!DSC05672DSC05670 DSC05671

Mixing up the blueberry muffins!DSC05673 DSC05676

Playing at his new dry erase table! DSC05677

All the goods! He also got a remote control car, but Santa forgot batteries so we will be playing with that later!DSC05681

Silly boys!  DSC05689 DSC05686

Dressed and ready to go! He wasn’t leaving without that scooter!DSC05691

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch with the Jefferies. Drew is much older than Trenton so his toys were way cooler!

Playing baseball!

Me and GretchenDSC05699

Now this was hilarious. Trenton and Drew chasing each other around with the nerf guns. Drew would shoot T and say “Die sucker” and T would dramatically fall to the ground! Hilarious!DSC05703

Look at this boy go! Trenton loves to play with The Jefferies boys skateboards so this is T’s first scooter/skateboard! He is so coordinated and his favorite part was starting at the top of the walkway or driveway and going down hill really fast!  DSC05706 DSC05707 DSC05708 DSC05709

We also want to give Grandma and Grandpa Flores a BIG THANKYOU for all of the paints, 3D sidewalk chalk and clothes! We are sad we didn’t get to see you on Christmas! We head to my parents house tonight for many more gifts and then relaxation until after the new year!!!

Weekend Overload!

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year because you get to direct your house inside and out with lights! This year we changed things up a bit and added Frosty. I couldn’t get a great picture, but here is our yard and house! Gene braved the roof in the freezing cold all by himself this year! He always does a great job!!DSC05567DSC05568Trenton was sick all last week which made him loads of fun to be around! He was finally able to go back to school on Thursday and this is him all bundled up ready to go! Doesn’t he looked pumped to go to school!DSC05569After a week of being sick we had a very busy weekend planned! After work and school Friday we headed to Spring to stay the weekend with my sister Laurie! We had Breakfast with Santa, 2 birthday parties and a lot of shopping to get done. On top of that I had an ornament party with my girls! Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the  elementary school my niece attends. Does anyone remember Secret Santa store? Well I remember going as a kid and spending a whole dollar on bubbles and bouncy balls! Well wouldn’t you know T did the same thing! He was so excited to carry his own bag of goodies! We got to take a picture with the best Santa ever! T usually bolts in the opposite direction at the site of Santa, but he seemed to LOVE this one!! We enjoyed breakfast and then headed to birthday party #1!

Ready to go see Santa with his Penguin Shop gifts!DSC05589 Awwww!!!! He told me “I wuv Santa”DSC05591 What a big boy! Mommy is very proud. This was really the nicest Santa I have ever met! AND HE WAS FREE!DSC05594

Jaycie is Trenton’s favorite cousin! She would make such a good big sister! They played all weekend and she even got to babysit a little! DSC05600

Donut for Jaycie and yogurt for T! He has never seen a Gogurt that isn’t frozen!DSC05601 DSC05603 In the gym-cafa-torium was this life size poster of Tim Duncan. WOW! Look how teeny T looks!DSC05599

After the breakfast we headed to a carnival themed birthday party for my step nephew! T had so much fun getting his hair spray painted, tattoos, face painting, moon bounce, strong man contest and bowling! Sonya did a great job! We had so much fun and it gave me a good idea for T’s 3rd b-day!

Red hair is a good look for him!DSC05605Getting his tatoo! DSC05609 DSC05612 T is totally obsessed with snakes right now! He asked the girl to paint one on his face and this is it! (She was only 12 so we will give her some credit for artistic ability!) Good thing he didn’t ask for a dinosaur!DSC05615 Strike! We may have a pro-bowler on our hands…HA HA DSC05617MonkeyDSC05619 ElephantDSC05620 LionDSC05621I mentioned we went to another party, but I have to admit we started at 9 am and got to the 3rd event is was 3:30! The 2nd b-day party was for my good friend Carrie’s son Dayton. He turned 1 and chasing kids and taking pictures was not something I wanted to do! We had fun at all parties and were extremely exhausted by the time we got home!

So what happens when you have pushed your kid to the limit with no nap the day before?

ULTIMATE BREAKDOWN from the minute they wake up ‘til the minute they go to bed! We had a train show and Walk Through Bethlehem planned for Sunday that we opted out of going to because….well the pictures should explain:DSC05622 DSC05623Poor baby! We have kept this week pretty low key! We have yet another visit with Santa this weekend and maybe a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Flores!
