Lost Footage

So I found some pictures on our small camera that we took at Thanksgiving 2009. I thought about not blogging, but then we would look back one day and wonder how we celebrated Thanksgiving that year! We go to Del Rio for the actual week of Thanksgiving and we celebrate it with my family the weekend before we leave. I never, repeat never have a camera with me in Del Rio. I guess I forget or just get to relaxed when we are there. Anyways this was Thanksgiving with my family. My aunt and her daughters came in town and it is always nice to spend time with them. Now on to the footage!

A Boaters World

Sunday was one of those days where I got little to no sleep, housework was out of control, laundry needed to be put away and all I wanted to do was sleep. Gene suggested we take out the boat. I was hesitant because of all of the stuff that needed to get done, but bargained with Gene. I said if he helped with the house stuff we would go. It actually worked! I wonder how many more times this will work?!? We all split up and the house was done in a matter of minutes. We packed up the boat and headed out. It is so amazing what a few hours on the water can do for your stress level! I love that Trenton really enjoys the boat now. Makes it much more relaxing for us.

We have started to use our little camera and the pictures are great, but it’s easier to capture these moments without the fear of dropping my nice camera in the water!

I love this picture of them! Small Cam Nov to July 10 088

I can’t say it enough how much I love having  a boat. It is one of the best investments we have made. I asked Gene if he thinks I will still be going out in a couple of months! I will be HUGE so we will see!

Congrats Joseph and Sonya 7/10/10

Saturday evening my younger brother Joseph married his fiancĂ© Sonya. It was an evening wedding and outside! In July that means hot, hot, hot! Trenton was going to stay with my niece, but we decided that we would take him with us. With that last minute decision came an outfit dilemma. I ran to a resale shop down the street and found the nicest shirt and dress shoes and paid less  than $15 for both!! I love a good deal. My brother asked me to read in their wedding as well, which was such an honor. I read 1Corinthians13. It is the most amazing verse about love and I am very happy that my brother found love. Trenton was very well behaved during the ceremony and ran around like a crazy child during the reception. He and my niece Mandi just love each other! They ran, danced, kissed, hugged and had the best time. I am so glad we took him with us. Kids are so cute at weddings!

There is a silly dance you do at every wedding that tells you to stomp your feet, slide to left, clap your hands….ringing any bells? Well Trenton love it. Enjoy Mommy and Trenton getting their dance on!Small Cam Nov to July 10 069

I can’t believe my little brother is married! My little sister Kym is the last one to tie the knot! After that all 5 Riley kids will be married! My parents are very proud and really enjoyed themselves. It was great to see our family together having a great time!! We are very lucky to have such a close family!

Happy 4th of July

Our 4th of July weekend was met with some horrible news. Gene’s Aunt passed away Friday evening unexpectedly. With me being pregnant and needing all of my personal time at the end of the year Gene had to travel to Del Rio without us to be with his family. We are very sad to have lost such an awesome woman. I am sad I missed family time and the funeral. With Gene gone Trenton and Mommy had to find things to do. With all the rain I have to admit we were tired of being cooped up in the house.  Saturday we cleaned house, got Trenton a haircut and headed to my parents house. My sister and I were going on a hunt for fabric while my Dad watched Trenton! Sunday I was even more tired of being inside so Trenton and I loaded up, had a breakfast date and then spent the day at the zoo. It was nice just the two us of. We took our time. ate a lot of snacks and rode the train. It was a fairly hot and humid day, but that didn’t stop this pregnant Mama! We got to the zoo early enough to beat the holiday crowd.

Everyone needs a Spider Man ice cream before going inside!DSC06660

Checking out the stinky Giraffe’s. I had a hard time with all the zoo smells, but made it through somehow!DSC06671

Awww he totally posed for me!DSC06675

So Trenton kept asking “I want to see Elephants, Lions and Tigers?” but once we got to the elephants he said they smelled like poop so we moved on.DSC06676

Oh my goodness it was H-O-T! Stopped for my favorite treat an Icee!

DSC06680

Due to the heat and excessive sweating I had going on we decided to skip the kids zoo (shame on me I know!), but headed to see the new Dinosaur exhibit!

DSC06682

He loves Triceratops and went back to see him several times DSC06683

 DSC06684

T-Rex was a bit scary. He moved and roared and was HUGE! Trenton and many other kids would not go near him. This was as close as I could get him! DSC06687 DSC06688

After seeing dinosaurs we checked out the ducks and turtles and headed for the train. This was the highlight of his day!DSC06689

We were leaving as everyone was coming so the train line was little long. This is Trenton enjoying his millionth snack of the day!DSC06690

Choo-ChooDSC06691

So cute! Waiting for the train to go!DSC06692

After a long drive home, detour due to traffic we finally made it home. We both laid down and took a 3 hour nap. That evening we did not see fireworks or anything. We ate dinner, climbed in bed and went to sleep. Not much excitement, but we did wear red/white/blue!

Happy 4th!
