I spent the day with a really sweet guy!

On Friday I decided to take one of my many vacation days to spend some time with Trenton. We got up early that morning, made breakfast and got ready for the day. As many of you may have noticed Trenton’s hair is a little out of control, well this is because every time I tried to take him to get his haircut we would wait like 20 minutes and then when it was our turn Trenton would scream like someone was trying to kill him! The hair place suggested we come during the day when no one is there so that  was our first stop of the day. We went to Cool Cuts and wouldn’t you know we were in and out in 15 minutes! Trenton’s new do is super cute! After the haircut we took Daddy lunch at school. He had a long break that day because it was game day so we chilled in the office for a while. Around nap time (insert smile here!) we headed to Kemah. I was hesitant because it was nap time, but pressed on because I figured he would be fine once we got there. AND I WAS RIGHT. We got there and the place was empty! No lines, not a million kids running around, just a few people and US! We rode the train, watched the boats come in, rode the merry go round and played in the water! What an awesome day to spend with my son! We had a blast and I can’t wait for baseball season to be over so we can do these things with Gene!

Waiting for the train to pull off! Like the new do?!?

Disney on Ice

On Saturday my sister invited Trenton and I to go with her and my nieces girl scout troop to Disney on Ice. I wasn’t sure how Trenton would do since it was a two hour show and Trenton doesn’t have a very long attention span. I mean what two year old does?!? Well anyways Nana went with us and Trenton had so much fun. He recently has discovered Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney so when he would see Mickey he would light up! He loved the Lion King, Little Mermaid and all of the Mickey/Minnie shows! He was not super impressed with Lilo or Peter Pan. Neither was I to be very honest. He had a melt down about 20 minutes towards the end, but Nana took him in the lobby and bought him a toy! Everything was better after that. I took advantage of his tantrum and decided to get our picture taken with some of the characters! No lines! Yeah Mom! We had a blast and I can’t wait to go again in November when they have the 100 year tribute!!

Here is Trenton 2 seconds after we walk in checking out the goods!

Nana decided that Trenton needed a Flounder hat so she bought cotton candy for everyone to share and the hat for T! The crazy light toy was my gift to him! DSC04235

Trenton also got a snow cone in a Stitch cup…is every counting how many toys he has come home with so far?!?

DSC04240

Let the show begin! How cool is the ice with those lights? There really isn’t a bad seat in the house!

Although we had a great time as soon as we left the party was over. Houston had a HUGE storm move in while we were in Reliant. So here I was with my 34 lb 2 year old, 34 lb diaper bag thanks to all the new toys and my umbrella..flip flops, water up to my ankles and half a million other people splashing around! We quickly walked to our car and the sat in traffic to get home. Well not home, but we made it to the gas station outside my flooded neighborhood. Trenton and I sat inside this gas station for 2 hours! Finally the rain slowed and we were able to drive through the high water to meet Gene. We then sat at Dos Mas for another 2 hours because our neighbor informed us we couldn’t get home! We FINALLY made it home around 7 or so. I have never felt more blessed than I did that day. 7 of our neighbors were COMPLETELY flooded. We were the first house on the street where the water stopped. 1/2 inch and we would have been toast! Thank you Jesus! The flood has brought my neighbors outside though and we have really been able to create some new friendships!

This is my very exhausted baby who had been bribed with candy all day, NO NAP and ready to go home. What a trooper! DSC04251

Too much testosterone around here!

It is no secret that I am out numbered in our house 3:1. Gene, Trenton and even Slugger! Can a girl get a break Please! Well I got just that on Wednesday when Gene decided to bring home dinner rather than I cook! He brought home one of our favorite take out foods: WINGS! We love wings. Little did we know so did Trenton. Prior to Gene’s arrival I made Trenton nuggets and mashed potatoes. Well once we sat down and all decided to eat Trenton insisted on trying a wing. He loved them! It was so cute watching him eat the wings and get all messy! We ordered some Hawaiian flavored wings so they were sweet rather than spicy! Trenton couldn’t get enough! He even ate carrot sticks and fries with cheese! Yum!

Daddy you are so funny with that sauce all over your face!

DSC04191

Wait maybe that’s me with sauce all over my face? hmmmm…DSC04194

This wing is just my size! More please!DSC04198

Big bite! He needed our help for the first one and then he ate them like a pro!

DSC04196  Looks like he is getting a little full! DSC04200

Trenton’s happy dance!

DSC04199

Lately Trenton has wanted to do everything Daddy does. He laughs when Gene laughs, he follows him everywhere, he cheers for him non-stop at games! This is nice for me because I get a tiny break every now and then. Well today Gene rushed home to mow the yard before the rain gets here. Trenton decided that he needed to help. In the past (last week) Trenton ran in the opposite direction at the sound of the mower. Today he got his new mower (Thanks Julia) and headed out front. I couldn’t pass up on this blackmail cute moment! I hope he has this much excitement when he is 15 and has to mow the yard! Gene had so much fun with his little man! As Trenton gets older I see such a bond between them! Makes me happy and some what wish for a little girl to do things with….Don’t get excited I said “some what”!

Gentlemen, Start your engines!!

Dad I’m heading over here to get started..Safety first as you can see we mow barefooted! Ha!

DSC04202

And we meet again. Dad you do the outside and I will get the inside!

DSC04203 It was so cute Trenton would wait for Daddy at the end of the sidewalk just so he could walk beside him!!

DSC04206 The dashing duo finishing up just in time!

DSC04209 It was so much fun to watch Trenton and Daddy mow the yard. I love how close they are starting to get! Trenton loves his Mommy and Daddy and we love him so much. Everyday he gets smarter and more clever! I have said it so many times, but I LOVE BEING A MOM!

Hoppy Easter

After a long 3 days of not seeing my baby I was so happy to be back in Houston. We enjoyed Easter morning with Grandpa and Grandma Flores and then headed to Nana and Paw paws for BBQ, fun and egg hunting! I love my big family and I am so happy that Trenton gets to see his cousins all of the time!

The Easter Bunny brought Trenton some great treats! Not a lot of toys because he knew that Trenton just had a HUGE birthday party!

Cute couple! (Finger in mouth not nose!) DSC04135     I remember last year when Trenton couldn’t  even walk on his own to gather the eggs! Sure it made for fun pictures w/Mom and Dad, but this year was so much more fun because Trenton was running with all of the big kids to get the eggs! Here is our little guy in action!

We had a great Easter and hope your family did too! The weather was such a blessing for our little ones. I love to see our family grow up and watch how they all become their own little people! I feel blessed that my family all know how important it is to spend this time together!! We missed my younger sister Kim because she had to work! Thanks Mom & Dad for the awesome lunch/dinner!
