Opening Day 2013

Why does opening day bring cold, rainy or windy weather? It seems like as soon as baseball season starts so does the crazy weather. We had a full day ahead of us on Saturday March 2, 2013. We had to be at the Sportsplex by 9AM! Gene has his own tournament so it was me plus three ALL day! The weather was FREEZING and WINDY! I can hardly believe we made it all day. We were at the field from 9AM – 4:30PM. My kiddoes did well and my sweet neighbor may have taken Trace for a nap so we could enjoy Trenton’s first game!

Trenton’s team this year is the Storm. We have an amazing coach and feel very lucky to have gotten on this team.

All of the teams walk with their coach carrying the team banner. Once all of the teams are in they start the Opening Ceremonies and awards.

We had a short break between opening ceremonies and pictures. We decided to kick back in the expedition and have a picnic. We watched cars and relaxed. Anything to try and keep warm.

After pictures (and poor Trace crying for almost an hour) we headed to Trenton’s exhibition game.

I remember when we took this trip when Trenton was a little over one! Now he is 5 and actually playing out on the field! My goodness how he is growing up way to fast!

DSCN0742

He is doing a great job with the pitching machine. He was nervous at first, but Daddy took him to hit at his field several times before practice started.

DSCN0744

Coach Phil is great. After every swing he walks towards the batter and talks to him. Gene even commented on what a great coach he is which is impressive!

DSCN0745

Trenton played center field and actually threw a guy out at home! I am so proud of him. He is doing so much better in pitching machine than he did in t-ball.

DSCN0746

Daddy rushed over from his field so he could watch Trenton’s game. He does everything he can to make it to his games and Trenton is usually so pumped when he see’s him!

Siblings

I am often asked “how do you do it with 3?” The answer is “Some days are better than others!” We have our ups and downs, but I have to remember that the sweet moments typically outweigh the not so sweet. The boys are pretty close. Trenton works really hard to be a good big brother. Trace wants to do everything Trenton can do, but better. Both boys LOVE to read. We will read 5 books before bed some nights. Trenton is at a Level C at school and is working very hard to get to a Level D.

I found the boys one night before bad reading in the kitchen. Trenton will usually read his school book to me while I cook dinner.DSCN0683

Peyton is one lucky little girl. She has the best big brothers a girl could ask for. They love to kiss and hug her. They both cannot wait until she can run around with them. Trace has become really sweet with her. He likes to feed her a morning bottle.

Bless her sweet little heart!

This is Trace’s way of trying to get Peyton to smile. She does not seem impressed!

Peyton has been doing really well with eating baby food! She favors vegetables over fruits just like her brothers did! DSCN0640

We have had a lot of cold and rainy days. It was nice to finally have a break in the yucky weather and get to enjoy playing in the backyard. This was Peyton’s first time in the swing and she loved it!

DSCN0643 DSCN0644

This little middle cracks me up! He is fearless and will swing on the playhouse onto the slide! I am also very proud of him for being able to swing in the big swing by himself!

Sick Day

Well what should have been a very routine well baby visit for Peyton turned into a 2.5 hour trip at the doctor. Peyton had been running a very low grade fever all week. She is cutting 4 teeth so I thought nothing of it. We arrived at her appointment to find she had a 103.5 fever! She was still smiling and giggling even though it was so high. They tested for the flu, NEGATIVE! They did a CBC, iron low/white count slightly up. We had to wait until her fever came down and for her to urinate. Well an hour later no pee so they had to put a catheter in. I am not much of a worrier, but this scared me. So far everything is ok and she is on antibiotics. My poor baby just keeps on smiling!

Doesn’t she look like she has a high fever??

DSCN0686

Look how red her little cheeks and arms were. She was burning up. Poor Mama

DSCN0688

Just chilling in her seat. Every time I could get her calm and almost asleep they would come in for another check or test. Bless her little heart.

Dr. Seuss Day

Today was Dr. Seuss’s birthday. They always make a big deal at the schools. Trenton’s class got to wear pajama’s, crazy hats, their favorite Dr. Seuss book and a fuzzy friend to read with. He really didn’t think Daddy’s fishing hat was crazy enough until he looked in the mirror!

Hilarious!!

Go Texan Day

Go Texan Day is a BIG DEAL! Everyone (even my office) gets to wear jeans and boots to work (only on Friday’s). I was having a hard time finding a reasonably priced hat for Trenton so he wore a bandana instead. I love that he doesn’t mind not being like everyone else all of the time. He loves his new boots and wants to wear them everyday! Trace does wear his boots everyday so add a pearl snap shirt and YEHAW cowboys!

Valentines Day

I love any holiday that I get to dress my babies up! I am sure one day they will look back and tell me what a nerd I was, but for now they enjoy it and so do I! All of the kids had Valentine’s parties in their classes and pretty much at the same time. Trenton really enjoys when we come to his parties and since he is in Kinder I went to his. He had to decorate a cereal box to receive his cards. When I asked him what he wanted to do he said “Darth Vader like my Valentine cards.” So that’s what we did. I was very proud of him for cutting and gluing most his box himself.
I let the boys pick out there own cards this year and Trenton picked Lego Star Wars and Trace picked Jake & the Neverland Pirates. I am A-Ok with that since they were both under $5! I made all of their teachers a sweetheart cup as well.

Peyton looked SO pretty in her Valentine’s attire all week.
(My big camera is out of commission so I am using my small one and my phone. Less than great pictures, but at least it’s something)

I always get the kids a little something for each holiday. It’s fun to give them sweet treats and little toys.

Oh my middle little Trace! You photo bomb every time I have the chance to take a good shot of Peyton!

Trenton’s class party was fun! They made Valentine cards, played Valentine Bingo and made ice cream sundaes!

The sweet little neighbor girl Brooklyn wrote Trenton this note. She likes to chase Trenton around the playground at school telling him how much she loves him (melt my heart):
Dear Trenton,
I know that at school you want me to stop and I don’t stop.

Gymnastics Party

We were invited to Brooklyn’s party at Lobo Gymnastics. The boys really enjoyed themselves. We are thinking about enrolling Trace this summer in classes since he is too little for baseball and he is fearless! I might have gotten a little teary eyed thinking about Peyton getting older and enjoying tumbling…I hope!

Sister is taking it all in!

Any excuse to put a tutu on my girl!

Trace kept up with the big kids with no problem. I think we may need to invest in a trampoline soon!

Sister really enjoyed watching the kids play! We had a blast at the gym and can’t wait to do it again!
