Opening Day 2013

Why does opening day bring cold, rainy or windy weather? It seems like as soon as baseball season starts so does the crazy weather. We had a full day ahead of us on Saturday March 2, 2013. We had to be at the Sportsplex by 9AM! Gene has his own tournament so it was me plus three ALL day! The weather was FREEZING and WINDY! I can hardly believe we made it all day. We were at the field from 9AM – 4:30PM. My kiddoes did well and my sweet neighbor may have taken Trace for a nap so we could enjoy Trenton’s first game!

Trenton’s team this year is the Storm. We have an amazing coach and feel very lucky to have gotten on this team.

All of the teams walk with their coach carrying the team banner. Once all of the teams are in they start the Opening Ceremonies and awards.

We had a short break between opening ceremonies and pictures. We decided to kick back in the expedition and have a picnic. We watched cars and relaxed. Anything to try and keep warm.

After pictures (and poor Trace crying for almost an hour) we headed to Trenton’s exhibition game.

I remember when we took this trip when Trenton was a little over one! Now he is 5 and actually playing out on the field! My goodness how he is growing up way to fast!

DSCN0742

He is doing a great job with the pitching machine. He was nervous at first, but Daddy took him to hit at his field several times before practice started.

DSCN0744

Coach Phil is great. After every swing he walks towards the batter and talks to him. Gene even commented on what a great coach he is which is impressive!

DSCN0745

Trenton played center field and actually threw a guy out at home! I am so proud of him. He is doing so much better in pitching machine than he did in t-ball.

DSCN0746

Daddy rushed over from his field so he could watch Trenton’s game. He does everything he can to make it to his games and Trenton is usually so pumped when he see’s him!

Siblings

I am often asked “how do you do it with 3?” The answer is “Some days are better than others!” We have our ups and downs, but I have to remember that the sweet moments typically outweigh the not so sweet. The boys are pretty close. Trenton works really hard to be a good big brother. Trace wants to do everything Trenton can do, but better. Both boys LOVE to read. We will read 5 books before bed some nights. Trenton is at a Level C at school and is working very hard to get to a Level D.

I found the boys one night before bad reading in the kitchen. Trenton will usually read his school book to me while I cook dinner.DSCN0683

Peyton is one lucky little girl. She has the best big brothers a girl could ask for. They love to kiss and hug her. They both cannot wait until she can run around with them. Trace has become really sweet with her. He likes to feed her a morning bottle.

Bless her sweet little heart!

This is Trace’s way of trying to get Peyton to smile. She does not seem impressed!

Peyton has been doing really well with eating baby food! She favors vegetables over fruits just like her brothers did! DSCN0640

We have had a lot of cold and rainy days. It was nice to finally have a break in the yucky weather and get to enjoy playing in the backyard. This was Peyton’s first time in the swing and she loved it!

This little middle cracks me up! He is fearless and will swing on the playhouse onto the slide! I am also very proud of him for being able to swing in the big swing by himself!
