Sick Day

Well what should have been a very routine well baby visit for Peyton turned into a 2.5 hour trip at the doctor. Peyton had been running a very low grade fever all week. She is cutting 4 teeth so I thought nothing of it. We arrived at her appointment to find she had a 103.5 fever! She was still smiling and giggling even though it was so high. They tested for the flu, NEGATIVE! They did a CBC, iron low/white count slightly up. We had to wait until her fever came down and for her to urinate. Well an hour later no pee so they had to put a catheter in. I am not much of a worrier, but this scared me. So far everything is ok and she is on antibiotics. My poor baby just keeps on smiling!

Doesn’t she look like she has a high fever??

Look how red her little cheeks and arms were. She was burning up. Poor Mama

Just chilling in her seat. Every time I could get her calm and almost asleep they would come in for another check or test. Bless her little heart.

Dr. Seuss Day

Today was Dr. Seuss’s birthday. They always make a big deal at the schools. Trenton’s class got to wear pajama’s, crazy hats, their favorite Dr. Seuss book and a fuzzy friend to read with. He really didn’t think Daddy’s fishing hat was crazy enough until he looked in the mirror!

Hilarious!!

Go Texan Day

Go Texan Day is a BIG DEAL! Everyone (even my office) gets to wear jeans and boots to work (only on Friday’s). I was having a hard time finding a reasonably priced hat for Trenton so he wore a bandana instead. I love that he doesn’t mind not being like everyone else all of the time. He loves his new boots and wants to wear them everyday! Trace does wear his boots everyday so add a pearl snap shirt and YEHAW cowboys!

Valentines Day

I love any holiday that I get to dress my babies up! I am sure one day they will look back and tell me what a nerd I was, but for now they enjoy it and so do I! All of the kids had Valentine’s parties in their classes and pretty much at the same time. Trenton really enjoys when we come to his parties and since he is in Kinder I went to his. He had to decorate a cereal box to receive his cards. When I asked him what he wanted to do he said “Darth Vader like my Valentine cards.” So that’s what we did. I was very proud of him for cutting and gluing most his box himself.
I let the boys pick out there own cards this year and Trenton picked Lego Star Wars and Trace picked Jake & the Neverland Pirates. I am A-Ok with that since they were both under $5! I made all of their teachers a sweetheart cup as well.

Peyton looked SO pretty in her Valentine’s attire all week.
(My big camera is out of commission so I am using my small one and my phone. Less than great pictures, but at least it’s something)

I always get the kids a little something for each holiday. It’s fun to give them sweet treats and little toys.

Trenton’s class party was fun! They made Valentine cards, played Valentine Bingo and made ice cream sundaes!

The sweet little neighbor girl Brooklyn wrote Trenton this note. She likes to chase Trenton around the playground at school telling him how much she loves him (melt my heart):
Dear Trenton,
I know that at school you want me to stop and I don’t stop.

Gymnastics Party

We were invited to Brooklyn’s party at Lobo Gymnastics. The boys really enjoyed themselves. We are thinking about enrolling Trace this summer in classes since he is too little for baseball and he is fearless! I might have gotten a little teary eyed thinking about Peyton getting older and enjoying tumbling…I hope!

Sister is taking it all in!

Any excuse to put a tutu on my girl!

Trace kept up with the big kids with no problem. I think we may need to invest in a trampoline soon!

Big brother is always having fun!

Sister really enjoyed watching the kids play! We had a blast at the gym and can’t wait to do it again!

Baseball Season in Full Swing

Well it’s baseball season and you know what that means: CRAZY, BUSY FLORES FAMILY! We will be splitting our time in between Trenton’s practices/games and Gene’s games. Trenton has moved up to pitching machine this year so that means a lot more practices and games. I was a little worried, but he is a natural. I am very proud of him for stepping up to the machine and not being afraid. More to come on his new team The Storm!

Gene has his annual Alumni and Marathon Game on February 2. I have gone to this event since I was pregnant with Trenton. It is a lot of fun to watch the boys run around on the field with Gene and interact with his players. Now that I have 3 it’s a lot more difficult to take pictures, but I do my best! Gene has a great set of players this year so we are excited to see how our season goes!

I don’t know if I was more excited that we FINALLY had a beautiful day or that I got to dress Peyton up in girly baseball gear!

Trace did not hesitate to go out on the field with his Daddy.

He also spent a lot of time on the gator. Who knew these things would provide such entertainment! DSC09611

Crazy Trace! DSC09614

Peyton does well if she is in her stroller and moving. She is very laid back and easy going as long as she is moving! DSC09616

My big boy! We had practice after being at Daddy’s field all morning. He was super excited to practice hitting in the big cages.DSC09617

So was Trace, but he really enjoyed his candy!DSC09618

Brothers playing well together. We have our moments, but they are really starting to play much better these days. Trace wants to do EVERYTHING Trenton does. DSC09619

Our sad little tee. I accidentally through the main part of our good tee in the trash so this is all they have for now. DSC09620 DSC09621

Christmas Performance at Church

I have to admit I was a little shocked. Trace did not enjoy being on stage at all. I don’t think we could even get a good picture of him because he was crying so much and had to be held. The family behind us made a comment about how sad he looked. Poor fella!

Trenton however LOVES to sing. He was right in the front row and new every song. I was so proud of him. He loves going to church and learning about God. We are blessed to have found such an incredible church that focuses on the spiritual growth of our children.

6 Months - Peyton

My sweet little Princess Peyton. You are growing like a weed. You are so sweet, calm and a very cool little girl. Your Daddy makes you smile and you love him so much. You love to play with your brothers (especially Trenton), but I know you and Trace will be best friends as you grow up. He doesn’t mean to sit on your or drag you around! He is just playing in his crazy Trace ways!

  • Height:
  • Weight: 19 lbs 9 oz
  • 4 teeth on top & 2 teeth on bottom (your vampire teeth were the first to make their appearance which was very funny to see)
  • You roll everywhere
  • Starting to scoot forward especially on carpet
  • You only say Dada
  • You prefer to be down on the floor rather than being held
  • Very calm and really only cry or fuss when you are hungry or tired

Your Grandma sent you this outfit and it is one of my favorite!

DSC09628

I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by! I need to apologize for not taking more pictures of you. It’s something I am working on!

DSC09637

Full recovery after your sweet brother Trace grabbed you and rolled with you all over the yard!

5 Years with the one I LOVE

Gene and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary this month! We have grown a lot in the 10 years we have been together and really in the 5 that we have been married. I am so lucky to have him as my husband (even though I may not make him feel that way very often). We let the trials of life and 3 little one’s interfere with our marriage, but are learning as we go. I love you babe and can’t wait to spend many more years with you!
