My sweet little baby

There is nothing better than the smell and sounds of a brand new baby! I am loving having our new addition at home. Trace is such a blessing. I have been a very bad and tired Mommy so I haven’t taken tons of pictures. I am vowing to do a much better job of taking pictures. Here are the few I have and most of them he is crying! Awesome!

What Trace has been up to. Well he likes to sleep, eat and sleep. Today he actually stayed awake from about 2-5. I think he had a tummy ache because he puked and pooped all over me at the same time. He is doing really good with feedings. We are having to supplement formula right now at night because I am just not making enough to meet his needs. Hopefully this will change. If not, oh well he will be fine on formula. He can sleep through anything even his big brother screaming and throwing a fit. He has a very laid back attitude (he gets that from his Daddy). We haven’t determined who he looks like just yet, but I am thinking me! haha!

I think he was done with me taking pictures rather than cuddling with him. He is quite the cuddle bug and I love it. Both of my boys love to cuddle with their Mama!

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween was so much fun. Trenton loves to wear costumes. He has worn the same Spider Man costume to play outside for the last year. Well although he wanted to be Spider Man again this year I talked him out of it and he was Buzz Lightyear! Gene took him trick or treating while Trace and I handed out candy. I was a little sad I couldn’t go, but he was so excited to show me his 2 buckets of candy and he even came to our door and said trick or treat! Such a big boy! We have enough candy to last a lifetime and some great memories. Gene said he was so polite and so excited to go with our neighbors kids!

Trace slept through Halloween so I didn’t even bother with a costume. He did have 3 Halloween outfits that he managed to puke on during the day before I could remember to take a pic! Gotta love 5 day olds!!

Best Big Brother

My sweet Trenton has really become such an incredible big brother. I cannot brag on his maturity enough. He loves to kiss, hug, hold and feed Trace. Every morning when we get up he asks if we can go get Baby Trace. I always say NO because I would rather him wake on his own. Today he took his stool from the bathroom and put it by Trace’s crib. He said “I can’t see his face!” He feeds Trace at least twice a day and kisses him infinite amounts. It’s funny when Trace get's mad and starts to cry, Trenton will cover his ears and say “It’s so loud” He will get used to it. The day we got home he told me to go show his brother to Isabella (the one year old across the street!). He always shows his brother off to his friends and is very proud. (I can’t wait to look back at this post in a couple years when they annoy the britches off each other) I hope that they grow up close and respect each other. I hope Trenton will continue to embrace having a little brother and I can’t wait for them to get older and play catch (ok I can wait a little). Gene and I have worked really hard to allow Trenton to help us with Trace. I never want him to feel replaced or left out. Sadly I think I get a little sad that I don’t get all the QT with Trenton that I have had in the past!

Trenton starts back at his school soon and I am really going to miss watching them together all day, but I know he will enjoy being back at school. He whines a lot during the day that he doesn’t have any friends to play with!

Heading Home

Well Saturday was my last day at the hospital and I was very eager to get home and get into our regular routine. Gene and Trenton picked up breakfast and headed to the hospital to get Mommy and Baby Trace! Trenton seems to have grown up so much over the last 4 days. I can’t believe how helpful he is and how much he adores his little brother. We were all packed and ready to go just waited an extra hour for Trace’s nurse to release him. It cracks me up the LONG list of things they go over with “new mommies” before they can leave the hospital. I wanted to say “Hello, don’t you see the 3 1/2 year old, I know what I am doing!” instead I shook my head and agreed with everything she told me. It was so surreal driving home with 2 car seats in the back, Mom and Dad in the front and not driving 20 mph on the freeway! WOW how things change with baby #2.

The Woman’s Hospital does this really cute thing called a Sibling Cake. Well I ordered one for Trenton to enjoy! Hip Hip Hooray I am a big brother!!
