Daytona was a blast!

Well we are back to reality after spending 5 days in Daytona. We had so much fun! We got to spend a lot of quality time with Gene’s parents, brother and his family. We got a lot of sun and enjoyed several baseball games. I didn’t know what to think about Trenton flying. I naturally expect the worst and did until right before we took off! I thought to myself, huh, this is going to go smoother than I thought. Well boy was I wrong! Trenton did an awesome job until the plane started moving. He screamed and cried and clinched me so hard that of course I STARTED CRYING! My poor baby! Then he fell asleep. It was a little over a 2 hour flight so he slept for most of it and then once he started to get comfy on the plane we started the descend, repeat above reaction. It was awful. So even though we started off a little rough and knew we were facing yet one more flight that day we still enjoyed ourselves! Our hotel was gorgeous! Our days went like this: Wake up, order breakfast, go to beach or pool, nap, lunch, beach or pool again, shower, ball game, dinner after or at park! Occasionally Trenton wouldn’t make it through the whole game so we would head back to the hotel to get ready for bed. Traveling with a 2 year old for long periods of time in a hotel is a bad combination. I think he was ready to come home by Friday because he pretty much whined and clenched to Mama ALL weekend!

Everyone needs a Starbucks muffin before getting on the plane, right??DSC04867 (1)We are psyching him up for the plane! He loved to stare at them from the window!

DSC04868 He has his plane game face on…little did he know what he was getting into!

DSC04872I had a HUGE bag of lollypops to bribe comfort him!

DSC04875Total breakdown and sleepy time!

DSC04876 The Cub’s park was really cool. It is the original field. They actually have to manually do the score board! DSC04881

Our hotel! The Plaza Resort and SpaDSC04982

Morning 1 of vacay! Straight to beach. White sands, blue water….Trenton still not a fan! DSC04914 DSC04916 DSC04918 He preferred sun bathing rather than the “yucky dirt”

DSC04919  He did although LOVE the pool! He has grown so much in his desire to actually play in the water. By the end of the trip he was floating by himself in a ring float around the pool!DSC04923 Again with the sunbathing!

DSC04924View from the pool. The resort was very kid friendly which made it even better because Trenton always had someone to play with!DSC04925 Uncle Luis in action

Gene and I were dying for some good seafood so one afternoon when I took a long walk down the beach while the boys napped I stumbled across this place! It was incredible! AND I have to say that I got just about all of the Forrest Gump trivia correct…maybe I shouldn’t be proud of that…..DSC05002

Ok so Florida has some freaky weather. We would be outside swimming and wake up to a giant storm and tornadoes everywhere! Then after about 45 minutes it was beautiful again! The cool thing was post rain storm it was cool outside! Not humid! I didn’t know what to do.

Here is Daddy and T after an hour rain delay stuck under the bleachers at Saturday’s game. They ended up calling it so we got to spend a lot of time our last night with the fam!

Over the Top!

On Sunday we took Trenton to the Circus! We met Brady and Cooper there to check out the animals, clowns and all of the special acts before the show started!  I wasn’t sure how he would act since lately everything has a new reaction AND Nana came by earlier that day and took us shopping so he only power napped on the way there!! Trenton had so much fun seeing the elephants and cried because we left the tigers! Tears were all clear once we got to the clowns! After pictures with clowns and watching juggling we headed to our seats and sent Daddy for dinner (Nachos and Popcorn)! I had to get Trenton the awesome spinning light toy for when it was dark! We also enjoyed a Cotton Candy dessert that came with an awesome hat! This was Daddy’s first time to the circus too so it made it even more fun to see both of their reactions! Although, the circus is nothing like it used to be when we were kids, but then again I am not 2 years old either!! This was a great way to begin closing out our summer! We leave for vacation Wednesday and then the real world of football starts for Gene! DSC04842      This is when we first got to the animals and he is just not sure if he is happy or not! DSC04830

There’s that smile! Notice the tigers in the background!

Juggling guy did not keep his attention as much as the man on stilts! Hence the upward gaze!

Silly Clowns!

Trenton not so excited about this fella!

The very cool light toy! We are starting a collection!!

DSC04854

I would have to say that the Tigers and Motorcycles (Bycles as Trenton calls them) were his favorite part. How cool is this motorcycle on a tight rope!

DSC04846DSC04855

I do believe this was my favorite part although I was a bit sad for the elephants. I know they rescue them, but it looks so painful to lay that big ole’ body on the ground!

DSC04863      Shannon you did an awesome jobs on the seat selection! We had a blast and can’t wait to do it again next year!!!
