Day 2 (A little rough on Mommy)

So Day 2 was a little rough. Gene and I decided that he would go to work because the nurses at the hospital could take care of me. Well, we were wrong. I was so ready to get out of bed and moving. I saw my nurse at 6:30 AM and then my Dr at 7:30. I didn’t see anyone (even though I called for a nurse a couple of times) until closer to 11. By the time my sister got here I had completely lost it. I was crying and frustrated….I was so sad that I had to refuse the nursery to bring me my child because I was all alone and couldn’t get out of bed. All was well once my sister got there. I was up, moving and calming down. So if I look horrible in the pictures there’s the story!

Super Dad! Gene has been so amazing and supportive. I love him so much and I can’t believe we have such a growing family!

So this day ended on a positive note. I had family come visit and my sister Laurie has been amazing. Without her I would probably still be a wreck and have post partum depression!

Gene said next baby we have we are not delivering at this hospital. Umm….next baby??

Trace Daniel

Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 7:51 AM we welcomed Trace Daniel Flores to our family. We arrived at The Womans Hospital at 5:00 AM for pre-op for my c-section at 7:45. It was a very long and busy day. The delivery went somewhat smoothly I had a lot of upper abdominal pain which caused some not so great drive heaving. Gene got to spend the first moments with Trace while they cleaned him up! As soon as they pulled Trace out he started to cry, it was such a heavenly sound! Dr. McBride said “Wow, look at the head and shoulders on this boy” They kept calling him a linebacker! He weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long. (I predicted he would be 7 lbs 11 oz). Trace is such a good baby and has really done well with breast feeding, although I feel like I am starving him, but he seems fine. I think he looks so much like Trenton did at a couple months old. Trenton just adores his little brother. He has been very helpful and understands he can’t climb on Mommy right now because she has a big bo-bo.

This is what happens when you wake up at 3:30 AM and go to the hospital.
