Gulf Shores – Port A

July 11-14, 2013 we took a much needed family vacation to Port Aransas! We met up with our favorite families from Del Rio the Hill’s and had a great time. We checked into the most amazing Gulf Shores Cadmiums! The Hill’s have been staying here for over 13 years and we are so excited to have been invited to join in their family tradition! The beach was so peaceful! The boys loved it and Peyton was a little unsure about the sand. She enjoyed the pool, but I think the sound of the ocean caused her to be exhausted because she slept most of the vacation! Chelsea is a pretty amazing photographer so our entire vacation is professionally done!!

Day 1 and Peyton has Sam Ray & Jackie wrapped around her finger! These two are getting married in March and are going to make INCEDIBLE parents!

Searching for shells, digging holes and building sandcastles were daily events! We also went crab hunting at night! The water in Port A is so clear and there is actual white sand! We would joke with other vacationers because we live 20 minutes from the coast, but drove 4 hours for clear water!

On any given day you would find the adults sitting in the chairs in the water! The kids played and played. We had such a relaxing time!

Beach Bums Collage

We would all head up to the condos for lunch and usually we would head to the pool. Peyton took naps most days while we were at the pool and we could see our room so it was nice. Next year I will not forget the video monitor!

The kids were having dance parties, watched TV and just played.

Chelsea, Jackie, Sam Ray, Erin & Mary Hill were the most amazing hosts! We cannot thank you for the best summer vacation. We plan to do this for the years to come. Gene and Sam Ray have been best friends since they were little. They grew up together and now it’s sweet to watch our families grow together. Maybe in a couple of years they will have a little one to take to the beach.

My twinkies! These two love each other so much. Trace is a good big brother and I think Peyton is settling him down a little.

This little one started out the summer SCARED of the water and by the end of vacation he was doing flips and being thrown in the air!

My baby loves!

Trenton is the best big brother, best first born we could ask for. He is kind, caring and always smiling. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He is so smart and funny.

Trace is our fiery middle little. He does EVERYTHING on his own time frame. He is demanding and stubborn, but will defend his brother & sister at the drop of a hat. He has a big heart and does love to cuddle. He cracks us up, hence the bucket on the head picture. He isn’t shy at all! He is the light in our life and definitely keeps us going!

Trace Collage

Peyton is the sweet princess. She eats and sleeps! STILL even at almost a year old. She adores her brothers and is learning very quickly how to manipulate them! Her big eyes just steal your heart. She enjoyed vacation as much as a baby could. It was hilarious to watch her in her float at the pool. She just kicked around like a little fish!

Peyton 2 Collage

Trace ended up having double ear infections and Peyton got impetigo while we were on vacation. This landed us in the urgent care immediately upon our arrival home. The kids travelled well and were very well behaved on vacation. I cannot say it enough, but we had the BEST time!

July 4, 2013

July 4,2013 was pretty low key this year. We hung out with our friends from church. They cooked out and had a water slide for the kids! I had no camera (still), but I was able to capture a few pictures with my phone. We also headed over to the Staley’s house to watch fireworks. Peyton kept grabbing them trying to catch them in the air!!

Trenton got his first set of stitches! 5 total from falling off of a stool at preschool! He was so brave and got really awesome tennis shoes after we left the doctors office.

Having the two little ones 20 months apart has it’s ups and downs. The ups are they do everything together! Peyton adores both of her brothers. I think she knows that she will be able to get in a lot more trouble with Trace though! These two are hilarious! What is so funny is they look SO much alike!

Summer Fun

We have been so lucky to have met a new group of friends that go to our church and have kids our age. They understand how hard it is to find a sitter to go out to dinner or have difficult it is to take a bunch of kids to a restaurant. They enjoy cooking out and letting the kids play. It was just the perfect introduction to our summer! My sweet neighbor and great friend Rhonda has been better than me this year at taking pictures when we are all together!! I am so thankful since my big camera is broken and well I am chasing around a 2.5 year old and an almost 1 year old!

Kinder at a Glance

I cannot believe how much Trenton has grown up now that Kindergarten is over! He is such a mature little boy. His interests are changing from wrestling and cars to Baseball & sports! I had such a great time being a first time kinder Mom! I feel like a pro for 1st grade and when the littles start school!

The most important thing that I learned this year was to let him make his own choices (even what he wears!) and have fun! They are only little kids for a short time and I want them to enjoy it. I really feel blessed that I got to be home with Trenton for most of his first semester of kinder! I got to eat lunch with him when I wanted to and attend programs. There was no better look than seeing his face light up when the littles and I would show up to school to join him for lunch (at 10:30 AM)!

It is so exciting to see what Trenton says he wanted to be at the beginning of kindergarten! I did ask him at the end of the year what he wanted to be and he said a person that reads to people!

Kinder Field Day - Trenton

May 2, 2013 was Trenton’s Kindergarten Field Day! The weather had been pretty rainy leading up to this day, but it all cleared out just long enough for the kinder friends to have their day! It was so much fun to share this special day with Trenton. Mrs. Carpentier is so patient with all of her kids!

We started the morning (9AM) with the popsicle station!

I guess it doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, popsicles will always make you smile!

Next up Crab Soccer

Each wall of kids was a team and they had to do the crab crawl while kicking a soccer ball. The object of the game was to get it out of the middle before the other team did!

DSCN0917 DSCN0921 DSCN0923 DSCN0924

The we headed outside to the Gator Wash Station!

The object here was some kids in the middle had wet sponges and the other gators ran and tried to avoid getting wet! If you got hit with a sponge you were out!

DSCN0925

Next the Ball Retrieval Game (i made this name up)

They had to run with a bucket on their head. Pick up a ball at the end and run back without the ball falling out. Look at these skills!

And Giant Ball Races

Doesn’t he look like he is LOVING Life!

DSCN0941

This game was called Gator Catch I think. The kids in the front had to run while the kid with the noodle chased them. If they caught them they had to hold the noodle and run together to the end.

DSCN0946

This game was super silly. The object was to use the spray bottle to squirt the mad face off. You only had 3 sprays each so this game was a little lengthy. Trenton’s team won at the end!

My kindergator! I love this kid and cannot believe we just had field day. This means he will be leaving kinder soon and moving into 1st grade!

Trenton’s Wresting Party – 6 Years

I LOST ALL OF THE PICTURES FROM HIS PARTY! MY MOM DOWNLOADED THEM AND THEIR COMPUTER CRASHED! SO BUMMED.

April 14, 2013 we had Trenton’s 6th birthday party at Main Event. Trenton has been waiting until he was in Kindergarten to get to decide where to have his party. He is super obsessed with wrestling right now so I got him a wrestling cake. Gene took him to Wrestlmania a few weeks back and he has been obsessed with John Cena ever since! We had a great turn out for the party and Trenton had a blast.

We started off with an hour of bowling!

Then we headed to the party room for pizza, drinks, cakes and his favorite part GIFTS!

He got so many awesome presents from his friends. He is really one lucky kid to have so many friends to share his birthday with!

Then we headed to play Laser Tag. Trace & Peyton sat this one out, but they were in good hands with Aunt Laurie and Nana!

Finally the kids all got $10 playing cards for all of the arcade games!

This was by far the easiest, but LONGEST party I have ever thrown. We had an awesome party host who took care of us and made it very easy! I would highly recommend a party at Main Event on a Sunday because you get a much better deal!

Happy Birthday to my sweet first born!

Trenton – 6 years old

I can remember the day like it was yesterday. My sister Laurie took me to the doctor and I was hooked up to the stress test machine. They left and came back to tell me we were having a baby today. 6 weeks early! It was quite the fiasco because I had nothing packed and Gene had testing so it was like pulling teeth to get his class covered (thank you Kim Brewer)!

Trenton you are such a sweet, kind and caring little boy. You are very emotional, but care so much about others it melts my heart. You are generous in all aspects of your life. You are happy if everyone else is happy. Kindergarten has really matured you. You are hilarious and keep your Dad & I laughing. You are the best big brother to both Trace & Peyton (who adores you more than life itself).
