Disney on Ice

On Saturday my sister invited Trenton and I to go with her and my nieces girl scout troop to Disney on Ice. I wasn’t sure how Trenton would do since it was a two hour show and Trenton doesn’t have a very long attention span. I mean what two year old does?!? Well anyways Nana went with us and Trenton had so much fun. He recently has discovered Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney so when he would see Mickey he would light up! He loved the Lion King, Little Mermaid and all of the Mickey/Minnie shows! He was not super impressed with Lilo or Peter Pan. Neither was I to be very honest. He had a melt down about 20 minutes towards the end, but Nana took him in the lobby and bought him a toy! Everything was better after that. I took advantage of his tantrum and decided to get our picture taken with some of the characters! No lines! Yeah Mom! We had a blast and I can’t wait to go again in November when they have the 100 year tribute!!

Here is Trenton 2 seconds after we walk in checking out the goods!

Nana decided that Trenton needed a Flounder hat so she bought cotton candy for everyone to share and the hat for T! The crazy light toy was my gift to him! DSC04235

Trenton also got a snow cone in a Stitch cup…is every counting how many toys he has come home with so far?!?

Let the show begin! How cool is the ice with those lights? There really isn’t a bad seat in the house!

Although we had a great time as soon as we left the party was over. Houston had a HUGE storm move in while we were in Reliant. So here I was with my 34 lb 2 year old, 34 lb diaper bag thanks to all the new toys and my umbrella..flip flops, water up to my ankles and half a million other people splashing around! We quickly walked to our car and the sat in traffic to get home. Well not home, but we made it to the gas station outside my flooded neighborhood. Trenton and I sat inside this gas station for 2 hours! Finally the rain slowed and we were able to drive through the high water to meet Gene. We then sat at Dos Mas for another 2 hours because our neighbor informed us we couldn’t get home! We FINALLY made it home around 7 or so. I have never felt more blessed than I did that day. 7 of our neighbors were COMPLETELY flooded. We were the first house on the street where the water stopped. 1/2 inch and we would have been toast! Thank you Jesus! The flood has brought my neighbors outside though and we have really been able to create some new friendships!

This is my very exhausted baby who had been bribed with candy all day, NO NAP and ready to go home. What a trooper! DSC04251
