Well Kinder seems to be going good. Trenton is slowly sharing with us what his day is like. He seems to enjoy his teacher and likes to tell us all about his “song class” aka music. I asked him what he does in Mrs. Carpentier’s class and he said “Boring papers”. I know they are just getting into routines and will transition into stations and more independent work soon. He was doing very good with listening and behaving until Friday. His teacher sent home a note that he was having a hard time with those on Friday. That was the same day I went to have lunch with him. I wonder if it has anything to do with it?? Either way we explained to him how important listening is and he needs to respect his teacher. Hopefully it was just first week wiggles and he will do better going forward. I did my best to capture him most days last week, but I think I missed Thursday. Boo to me!
On the second day of school the kids decided to ride their scooters. Trenton thought he was super cool riding his scooter to school. He didn’t think it was super cool that I went with him. When we got to the school all of the kids went to the gymatorium! I stopped to chat with a friend and told Trenton to go with his friends. I started to walk down to make sure he made it and he came out of the kinder hall looking so lost. We walked together and he was good. He looked so big and mature sitting in line with all of his friends.
On the 3rd day of school all of the kids rode their bikes to school and the Mommies did not walk them! He thought he was even bigger of a hot shot riding his bike. He still has training wheels, but Daddy is working on that. I am letting him ride his bike or scooter when ever he wants because once I go back to work he will have to walk because he will be going to after care. Trace and I met him at the corner and Trace was so excited to see his brother. Big hugs and kisses were given!
Day 4 (No Picture) he rode his scooter again. The day went well and he FINALLY shared with us some details of his day! Trace cried when he left that morning, but had no problem adjusting to him being gone.
Friday was Red Day so all of the kinders were asked to wear red! I decided to meet Trenton for lunch. He was super excited to see me and didn’t want me to leave. I went through the food line with him so he could have an extra slice of pizza. I was not interested in eating pizza at 10:38 AM! He got in a little bit of trouble on Friday for not listening and being loud in the restroom. He came home with a yellow in his folder…I know it will not always be this way. It’s a lot adjusting to school.
